Seque Releases
Seque updates automatically through the Chrome Web Store. You do not need to reinstall or re-activate, and your licence and settings carry across. This page describes the current release and the work we are planning.
Version 3.2.9
CurrentOctober 2026
A security update. Seque now checks more of what leaves the browser, and organisations using the Seque agent preview can see whether it is protecting them. Upgrading needs nothing from you, and if you are updating from an earlier version, every earlier improvement is included.
More of each request is checked
Some AI services send what you write in forms that Seque could not fully read before. Seque now checks those too, so your organisation's rules apply to more of what is sent. Where a request cannot be read, Seque records that it was not checked instead of treating it as safe.
Agent status at a glance
For organisations using the Seque agent preview. The popup now shows whether the agent on this computer is connected and has applied your organisation's rules, and says so plainly when only some of them could be applied. After the agent restarts, Seque reconnects to it on its own.
More complete data removal and a more reliable audit trail
When an organisation's data is erased, Seque now removes it more completely, including records an earlier version left behind. The check that confirms your audit trail is intact no longer raises false alarms when several events arrive together.
What this does not change
Your organisation's rules are unchanged. Seque applies them to more of what leaves the browser, so a request it previously missed may now be stopped or have values replaced, exactly as your policy already says. People who are not administrators will see no other difference.
Desktop AI app coverage
Proposed
Extending protection beyond the browser to AI applications installed on the computer.
More and more AI tools are installed as desktop applications, or built into other software, rather than used in a web browser. A browser extension cannot see inside those applications, so they are not covered today.
This work aims to bring them under the same policies your organisation already sets for AI in the browser, so staff are protected whichever way they choose to work.
Who this is for. Organisations whose staff use desktop AI applications as well as the web versions. If that describes you, tell us: it helps us decide which applications to cover first.
AI spend insights
Planned
Help your organisation understand, and reduce, what it spends on AI.
Seque already sees how your organisation uses AI. The aim is to turn that into a clear picture of AI spend and practical ways to lower it, so a privacy control also delivers a measurable return.
- See where AI spend goes, across your organisation and by platform.
- Send less without losing meaning, particularly with long documents.
Post-quantum cryptography
Deferred
Deliberately waiting until browsers support it natively.
A new generation of cryptography is being standardised to withstand future quantum computers. Browsers do not yet support it, and adopting it early would make Seque heavier for every user with no security gain today.
The protection around your stored data and activity records already uses methods regarded as resistant to this kind of attack. The remaining work concerns how licences are verified, not your data.
Our position: the design is ready, and we will adopt it once browsers support it. At that point it should be a straightforward change rather than a costly one.
